The children have shown a deep interest in exploring dinosaurs in our outdoor yard, transforming their environment into exciting prehistoric habitats and landscapes. Over the past week, they’ve been using their vocal cords to see who can make the loudest “ROAR!” This imaginative play supports their development by allowing them to bring their ideas to life, create stories, discuss dinosaur habitats, and share discoveries with each other.![]()

This activity fosters peer interaction, builds confidence, and nurtures their natural curiosity, creating a joyful, collaborative learning experience that enhances both social and communication skills.
Exploring Our Outdoor Environment & Imagination!☀️🌳![]()

Today, the children engaged in a rich, hands-on experience that fostered their fine and gross motor skills, spatial awareness, and creative thinking. Using natural log pieces, the children collaborated to construct a “building” that they proudly named “Melbourne”. This experience not only encouraged teamwork and problem-solving but also supported STEM concepts such as balance, stability, and structure.![]()

Through this experience the children developed their social and communication skills as they shared ideas, negotiated roles, and contributed to a shared vision. The use of natural materials fostered a connection with the environment, inspiring an early appreciation for sustainable resources. This outdoor experience nurtured their autonomy and confidence, allowing them to explore, create, and learn through meaningful play.

As the spooky season has approached us, our Acacia room has combined their fine motor skills and math concepts together too enhance their cognitive development. ![]()

The children have used their fine motor skills to manipulate the tweezers to get the “dry slime” out of the spiderwebs. The children then used their counting skills to count each of the blocks within the spiderwebs with support from their educators!

Balnarring Early Learning Centre is continuing to build a community within the Centre by providing families the opportunity to donate non-perishable foods, books, blankets, and clothing etc whilst also having the opportunity to take whatever they may need during these times. ![]()

So far, we have had a great response from all of our families- and we will ensure that each family feels supported within our community!

On Wednesday 19th October, the Kinder children from Balnarring ELC took part in the Little Long Walk. The Little Long Walk aims to raise awareness of our First Nations People. The children demonstrated incredible respect throughout the Acknowledgment to Country, smoking ceremony and the walk itself. We had some very tired children when we returned, but we couldn't be more proud of them for representing our service at this amazing event!![]()

On Monday, the Kinder children attended an excursion at The Red Hill Baker at Balnarring. They were shown around the kitchen, learning about all of the different ovens and machines that make all of the delicious food and even got to make their own bread!![]()

Yesterday morning, the children enjoyed an "open door" morning. All of the doors to the rooms were opened up and the children were free to move around the centre as they pleased.
